12-10-21 thiesfeldt will not run for re-election

Fond du Lac state representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt has made the official announcement that he is not running for re-election.  WFDL news was first to report that Thiesfeldt was not going to run for another term after talking to multiple sources.  Theisfeldt later issued a press release confirming this will be his last term in the assembly.  Thiesfeldt says it has been an honor to represent the 52nd Assembly District but said he did not believe elected office was a long term apppointment.  Thiesfeldt was first elected to the state assembly in 2010.  Thiesfeldt is returning to Winnebago Lutheran Academy  where he taught school before running for the legislature.   Thiesfeldt was installed  as a guidance counselor and registrar at a special chapel service this week.    “I first want to thank my wife and children for their encouragement and unwavering support through what has been some incredibly challenging years of service.  I also want to thank the voters who have so strongly supported my candidacies, even back to my years on the Fond du Lac City Council,”  Thiesfeldt said.  In addition, I am thankful for the faithful capitol office staff that have been ‘Fighting for the 52nd’ at my side all these years.  There are so many more I need to thank that it is too long for a press release.  I intend on using the next 13 months to thank them all.   But, above all, I want to thank God that He has allowed me the blessing to serve my community and state.  Though the times have been challenging, He has never left my side, blessing me not only with the opportunity to serve, but also the wisdom to know when the time to return to the ministry has come.”  Thiesfeldt will be a guest on AM 1170s Between the Lines program at 9:30am Friday.
