Nobody was seriously injured and a 32 year old Appleton man is in custody following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County. The chase started shortly after 8pm Saturday when the Fond du Lac County Dispatch Center received a report of a reckless driver on Interstate 41 southbound near Lincoln Road. The pickup exited onto Johnson Street and increased it’s speed when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to make a traffic stop. The pursuit continued west on Portage Street, then north on Pioneer Road. The chase ended when the vehicle ran over stop sticks placed on County Highway OO and the pickup crashed into a fence. The driver fled on foot and was taken into custody near Townline Road and the Interstate 41 overpass. The driver was transported to St. Agnes Hospital where he was treated for undisclosed injuries and released. He is being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on several warrants and new charges related to the pursuit.
