The Fond du Lac Soccer Association has received a major donation to construct an artificial turf soccer field at the Fond du Lac Soccer Complex. The National Exchange Bank Foundation is donating $500,000 for the turf field that will allow teams to play longer into the colder months of the year. Soccer association board member Andy Gill says it’s a matching grant. Gill says the hope is to raise the remaining amount this spring and have the new field ready for play by this fall. “We’re very pleased,” Gill told WFDL news. “We serve a large community of 1700 players. This will certainly provide us the opportunity to continue growth with the soccer program.” Recently the Association has also received a donation from the National Exchange Bank Foundation to upgrade and expand the Soccer Complex concession stand, and a $50,000 impact grant from the Fond du Lac Area Foundation for new field lights.
