4-20-21 fdl city and county government organizational meetings

The Fond du Lac county board and Fond du Lac city council have sworn in new members and elected new leadership.   Longtime Fond du Lac County Board chairman  Marty Farrell handed over the gavel to board supervisor Sam Kaufman.  Farrell did not seek reelection this year.  Kaufman was unanimously elected board chair.  Kaufman is the only person running for county executive in a special election June 7 to fill the unexpired term of Allen Buechel.  Buechel died last month from a heart attack.  Supervisor Marty Ryan was elected first vice chair and supervisor Steven Abel was elected 2nd vice chair.  Four new members on the Fond  du lac city council were sworn into office and councilmember Patrick Mullen was elected council president.  Councilmember Keith Heisler was elected council vice president.   In Waupun Rohn Bishop was sworn into office as the city’s new mayor after running unopposed in the spring election.
