Fond du Lac Area Foundation executive director Joe Braun is stepping down. Braun has announced he is leaving the charitable fundraising organization effective April 30 after 20 years, the past four years as director, to pursue a new career opportunity. “It has been an honor to serve the Fond du Lac community for the last twenty years, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished,” said Braun. “The Foundation has been and will continue to be a vital community organization. I will miss the team, the board, the donors, and nonprofit colleagues that make this community such a special place. At the present time I have a great career opportunity which will allow me to spend more time with my family, and allow us to travel more, which at this point in my life I can’t pass up. I feel that I have left the Foundation in a great position for the next leader to step in and take the organization to greater success.” Incoming Board Chair David Hornung will serve as interim director as the board conducts a search for a new executive director.
