The city of Fond du Lac is partnering with UW extension to launch a Youth in Governance program. UW extension youth educator Ron Jakubisin says the program is for high school students starting this August and running through next May. Jakubisin says participating students will serve on the advisory park board, plan commission, alcohol licensing commission, and public library board to learn how local government works. Interested student can apply now with interviews held in August. Jakubisin says the program is looking for students who have a strong interest in community engagement, are responsible, mature, dependable and have a positive attitude.
