The president of Envision Greater Fond du Lac says the county is well on the way to expanding broadband access in the area. Sadie Vander Velde says funding has been approved to add six towers for wireless broadband service, 10 towers for wireless broadband and cellular service, and approximately 160 miles of middle-mile fiber optic cable. The efforts follow a comprehensive survey and study to identify gaps in coverage and make recommendations for long-term expansion of broadband in Fond du Lac County. Vander Velde says these efforts are placing the Fond du Lac area ahead of the curve in terms of putting reports into action.
