An infant formula shortage continues even though a major manufacturing plant has been reopened and resumed production for about a month. Abbot recently announced it has ample supply of EleCare specialty formula and other specialty and metabolic formulas until new product is available. Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says that could still be a while. The Department of Health Services recommends parents consider trying a new brand of formula or a formula made in another country such as Bubs, Kendamil or Similac Pure Bliss, all allowed by the FDA. Mueller says also consider breastmilk.
