The Biden administration says there’s enough monkeypox vaccine available but the shots aren’t getting to those who need them the most. About 10 percent of monkeypox vaccine doses have been given to Black people, even though they account for one-third of U.S. cases. Experts say the disparity may be related to how and where shots are being offered and publicized. Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the Health Department has a small number of monkeypox vaccine available. Mueller says her office has given the vaccine to three individuals. While most U.S. monkeypox cases have been in men who have sex with men, officials stress that anyone can catch the virus.
